Katie is a wife, mom of two daughters, writer and communications professional, but not always in that order.
A former TV reporter, Katie has experience on both sides of the camera, giving her a clear understanding of what clients need to stand out and have their messages heard.
For over a decade Katie worked for NBC affiliate, WTWO-TV, serving as a producer, crime beat reporter and helped launch the daily lifestyle and entertainment show, Good Day Live!
She "retired" from TV, but took with her experience and knowledge to serve as the Director of Communications for the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce. During that time Katie was recognized as one of the 2017 Terre Haute 12 Under 40. Her work at the Chamber contributed to the organization being named the 2019 Chamber of the Year. In 2021, the Indiana Chamber Executives Association recognized one of Katie's major marketing projects with the Innovative Excellence Award for an Inclusivity Panel Series, which called attention to the needs and challenges of minority business owners.
In 2022 she launched K. Shane Communications. Since starting, the business has worked with a variety of clients on everything from monthly social media management, press releases and complete website overhauls. She continues to write a monthly column, "(Terre) Haute Mommy" in Terre Haute Living Magazine.
A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Katie received a degree in Journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington.
She's a proud community volunteer serving organizations including the Miracle on 7th Street, Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, St. Patrick School, the Pride Center of Terre Haute and St. Joseph University Parish.
Katie is married to Ryan Jenkins, an elementary school principal. They have two daughters, Dylan and Avery.
